What Does a Pinterest Manager Do?

Are you a business owner wondering if hiring a Pinterest manager or VA is right for your business? In this blog post, I will share some insight into what you can expect from Pinterest Management from a Pinterest manager.

Before we get into the Pinterest account management workflow that is done by a Pinterest manager, I just wanted to note that I use the terms “Pinterest Manager” and “Pinterest VA” very loosely here. I use them interchangeably.

The main difference is that a Pinterest VA is often just starting out with Pinterest Management or choosing to only offer basic Pinterest Management services.

A Pinterest Manager is more experienced, especially when it comes to Pinterest strategy, Promoted Pins (Pinterest advertising), and even Pinterest sales funnels. I personally use the term Pinterest manager or Pinterest strategist.

What a Pinterest manager can offer your business:

Pinterest Account Setup

Doing Pinterest account audits, setting up a Pinterest account from scratch, and also doing Pinterest account cleanups. These tasks generally fall under the category of Pinterest account setup. One important aspect of this category is ensuring that keyword research and correct setup is done correctly, tasks such as confirming the client’s website and other connected accounts, installing the Pinterest Tag correctly, and enabling Rich Pins.

Pinterest account managers will also include a Pinterest account set up when onboarding a new monthly Pinterest Management client. This is a once-off task.

Scheduling Pins

Some may choose to do this manually but the preferred method is scheduling original content pins through an accredited Pinterest partner scheduling tool, such as Tailwind. Get your free Tailwind trial AND $15 off your first paid month right here!

This task is included in a monthly workflow process which includes uploading original pin designs from the client, writing keyword-rich descriptions and adding it to the schedule. You’ll also be finding other content on Pinterest to fill up the client’s schedule. This is usually part of a monthly management package.

Designing Pins

Some Pinterest Managers choose to offer pin design as part of their packages or include it as a once-off bundle.

Promoted Pins

A Pinterest manager may offer this as an add-on service, setting up and running paid ad campaigns for certain content, monitoring the progress, and adjusting it.

Pinterest Strategy

A Pinterest Manager knows the purpose of each and every Pin for a business profile and creates and pins content to Pinterest strategically. An experienced Pinterest manager also keeps abreast with all the changes of the Pinterest algorithm and will advise you as you develop your content marketing strategy. They will also be able to give you guidance on any gaps in your sales funnels - Pinterest traffic to your website is only the start of the marketing funnel for your business.

At the end of each month, I set up a monthly Pinterest Strategy call with my clients to go over what is working and what is not working.

Pinterest Coaching and Training

Many businesses have realized the power of Pinterest but can’t afford to hire out management services month after month and would prefer to do it all DIY. Pinterest specialists often offers 1:1 training which allows businesses to get up to date with best Pinterest practices by booking a 1:1 coaching call.
